European public procurement: three sectors account for 37% of observed TED notices
Construction, medical products and architecture-engineering services account for 22,572 of the 61,033 TED publications observed by Tenderiva during Aug 31, 2026 – Sep 29, 2026. The three families lead with 37% of the corpus, while most notices remain spread across other sectors.
The medical publication count is close to construction’s
The leading family, Construction work (CPV 45), has 9,308 notices, or 15.3% of the total. Next comes Medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and personal care products (CPV 33), with 7,576 notices and 12.4% of the corpus.
The medical family therefore represents 81.4% of construction’s publication count. The difference is 1,732 notices: the two groups are relatively close in volume, although they concern quite different purchases.
In third place, Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services (CPV 71) accounts for 5,688 notices, or 9.3%. It includes design, engineering and technical services. The leading trio consequently brings together works, supplies and services rather than one uniform market.
Most notices still belong to other sectors
The other 42 CPV families contain 38,461 notices, or 63% of the corpus. The leading three should not obscure that majority, distributed across many activities.
The complete ranking provides this wider context. It places every family within the same set of 61,033 publications without treating rank as economic value. A sector with fewer notices may still contain substantial contracts; these figures do not establish their financial weight.
A dated snapshot with verifiable data
This analysis covers Aug 31, 2026 – Sep 29, 2026, rather than a full calendar month. These figures will remain available after future barometer updates. The table and CSV file give the notice count for each sector.
Notices are classified by their main CPV. The volumes measure observed TED publications, not unique contracts or actual expenditure. No time trend is inferred: comparing periods requires sufficiently comparable collection.
