UK4 - Tender Notice 1. Background/Context Local authorities are required to undertake a full assessment of the childcare provision in their area every five years. This is done through the production of a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA). Through the CSA, the local authority will need to assess the local childcare market to develop an understanding of parents’ current and future need for childcare. The local authority will compare the assessment of parents’ demand for childcare with information about the current and planned availability of childcare provision across the local authority area. 2.
