Description: The Containment Vessel (CV) is a freestanding cylindrical vessel with elliptical top and bottom heads. The function of the CV is to house the reactor coolant system (RCS) and other related systems. The CV provides a high degree of leak tightness and is protected against postulated missiles from external sources. 1.
