Official summary
What is being procured?
Norwegian trains (NT) are required to phase out fluorescent lighting on most of their train fleet to maintain their intended service lifetime. This change is driven by government regulations mandating the phase out of fluorescent lighting in Norway, in accordance with the EU's RoHS Directive. Since both national and European manufacturers have ceased production of fluorescent tubes, an LED solution must be adopted to meet lighting requirements for rolling stock. NT wishes to replace all internal lighting systems that currently do not use LED with an LED solution on Class WLAB2. NT is open to all solutions that replace the current system with LED.
