What is being procured?
National Transport Authority and Transport Infrastructure Ireland Luas is Dublin's light rail system and consists of two separate lines, the Red Line and the Green Line. The system comprises 42.5 kilometers of track, three maintenance depots, 67 stops and a fleet of 81 light rail vehicles. Luas carried 48.2 million passenger journeys in 2023. Further expansion of the system is anticipated. A more detailed description of the Luas system is given in Appendix A of the IMPQQ Document. It is anticipated that the Luas Operations and Maintenance Contract will commence operations in Quarter 2 or 3, 2026 for a period of seven years from full operational commencement, with an option to extend by up to a further five to seven years.
