What is being procured?

Isavia has entered into an agreement for the procurement of Rhinophalt for surface treatment of the runway pavement system at Keflavík Airport. Rhinophalt has been used for surface treatment of asphalt runway pavements at Keflavík Airport for several decades. Based on long#term operational experience and performance in local climatic conditions, Isavia has made a conscious decision to continue using Rhinophalt. The material is applied as a preventive surface treatment at regular intervals of approximately 4–5 years. This treatment is considered to significantly extend the service life of the asphalt pavement, increasing its lifespan from approximately 20 years to up to 40 years.
