Items in the Horniman Collection when not on display are stored, managed, studied and conserved at the Study Collection Centre (SCC). The existing Spirit Store is a refrigerated container which holds generally organic and biological items which are preserved in vessels of flammable spirit such as denatured alcohol or formalin.
