The EU faces severe challenges in attracting girls and women into the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. Less than one in five ICT specialists employed in the Union are female. This initiative addresses the Digital Decade target of improving gender balance while reaching 20 million ICT specialists by 2030, by supporting activities that actively tackle the under-representation of girls and women in the ICT sector in the EU. This action will build on and further develop the work initiated by the WIDCON project (101195389), funded under the DIGITAL work programme 2023-2024.
