The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s National Metrology Institute, implements the project “Upgrading of Quality Infrastructure in Africa II” on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to strengthen quality infrastructure in Africa’s pharmaceutical sector by supporting regulatory systems, harmonizing quality standards, and improving access to safe, effective, and high-quality medical products. The African Union Commission is the project’s political partner. A key partner is the African Medicines Agency (AMA), a specialized agency of the African Union established under the AMA Treaty. AMA supports African Union Member States and National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) in strengthening regulatory systems, prom
