The counting of salmon in Tana main river has been carried out in Finnish every year at Polmak since 2018. Counting salmon in Ká rá š johka has been the most important piece in monitoring on the Norwegian side. A tender contest was held prior to 2021 for counting salmon with sonar in Ká rá š johka, supplemented with counting of a side watercourse in addition. The monitoring was for two years, with an option for further monitoring for three additional years. The monitoring contract shall now be renewed.
