Limerick City Centre is undergoing a holistic change in the way that it manages its commuter traffic. The way in which commuters can use the road network within the city centre is being changed with the introduction of viable alternatives to the traditional car centric philosophies of the past. Enhancements through the introduction of Active travel infrastructure and future plans with respect to LSMATs and Bus connects projects will provide commuters with real viable alternatives when travelling to and from the City centre. The Mayoral program, supported by the Draft Limerick City Centre Transport Plan has the potential to enact further change in the way the city is viewed from a commuter perspective.
